Of course McKenna had to be a sweet lil Owl for Halloween! Since her nursery has an owl theme to it, I thought that an owl costume would be a perfect choice for McKenna's first Halloween. I did what I usually do and try to make things when I don't really know what I'm doing! It seemed like a fairly doable idea at first, buy an inexpensive sleeper onesie, cut out a millon feathers, create a hat, and sew everything on! Well, thankfully Grammy helped Mommy sew half of the feathers on! Mommy's side of feathers started falling off when McKenna wore her costume to Kindermusik class on Monday and continued to fall off after Mommy had to put the costume in a bucket of oxiclean and wash it; McKenna let off a giant explosion on the way home from Kindermusik class and Mommy couldn't get to it in time since we were in the car! Needless to say, McKenna made the costume and while she was missing a few feathers before we got started trick or treating and when we got home she was a cutie hootie! Next year I think I'll figure out a way to use my sewing machine for her costume instead of hand sewing or I might just go with a store bought costume! I've included a few more pics from tonight and a few others taken over the past weeks. Happy Halloween!
